The Safe Routes to School committee is excited to see that the sidewalks are completed on 13th Street, linking the Middle School and the Elementary School for safer routes for our youth to get to and from school. To promote good health to the community, the Safe Routes to School committee invites all Kindergarten through 8th grade youth and parents to participate in Walking Wednesdays. The program will begin Wednesday, October 3, in collaboration with International Walk to School Day. The program will end on October 31. Participants are asked to meet no later than 7:30 a.m. atClearview Circle. The Walk will begin promptly at 7:30 a.m., giving youth enough time to make it to school and eat breakfast if needed. Walking to school is free, beneficial to your health and FUN! Don’t miss the opportunity to walk with your friends, earn prizes, and create a healthier lifestyle.
